Geoff Barrett

Geoff Barrett is the Managing Director of Watershed Premium Wines Ltd and Watershed Land Ltd. Geoff completed a two year role on the executive committee of the Margaret River Wine Industry Association in 2005. ln December 2005 Geoff was appointed to the board of Curtin University of Technology – Muresk Institute. Until 30 June 2002, he was managing partner of the law firm Garton Smith & Barrett, advising in relation to managed investments in forestry, viticulture, wineries and manufacturing. Prior to practicing law he had over 18 years experience in banking and finance. He managed several major banking projects, including the development and introduction of automated teller machines. Geoff has previously lectured in International Taxation Law, International Business Law and Contract Law and tutored in Corporations Law at Curtin University.

Geoff was responsible for identifying and negotiating the purchase of the Stage 1 Watershed Vineyard and Winery site in May 1999, assembling the viticulture, winemaking, sales and management team, and structuring the Watershed Project and its finances. He also negotiated the purchase of the Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4 Watershed Vineyard sites. Geoff has overseen the development of the Project since its inception. ln November 2002 he relocated to Margaret River. Since attending the first international wine expo in Bordeaux, France in June, 2003 he has attended numerous international wine exhibitions with the objective of appointing distributors in foreign markets. Geoff continues to support Watersheds overseas distributors by regularly conducting Wine dinners in their respective countries and by calling on the distributor’s retail trading partners.


From 1981 until recently, Dick Hill was the Head of Gastroenterology at Princess Margaret Hospital, Perth. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce (Econ) and he has successfully built and managed a significant investment portfolio. Dick has held a longstanding interest in the Australian wine industry and his passion has led him to design and manufacture wine racking. Dick is a Director of Watershed Land Ltd and Watershed Premium Wines Ltd.


Greg has more than thirty four years in the hospitality industry both locally and overseas. Greg obtained his qualification as a Chef at Perth’s King Arthur’s Table at the Red Castle winning several gold plate awards before moving to another of Perth’s most awarded restaurants, the Mediterranean in Subiaco. Greg later moved to London in the mid 1980’s to work assa banquet manager at Ritz London. On his return Greg went on to co establish a successful family logistics business. Greg has over the years owned and successfully operated a number of local Perth restaurants. Greg has been involved in Watershed Premium Wines since its inception.


Wayne has been in professional practice since 1973. His initial training was with what is now one of the four large international accounting firms. In 1985, Wayne was one of the 8 founding partners of HLB Mann Judd in Perth and was the Director of the Firm’s Corporate and Audit Services Division from that time until 2015, when he retired from the firm. Wayne specialised in audit services and also undertook many of the Firm’s corporate services assignments, including business valuations, litigation support matters, expert reports in relation to mergers and takeovers, independent accountant reports for capital raising purposes and forensic accounting matters. Wayne is a director od Watershed Premium Wines Ltd and Watershed Land Ltd and is the chair of both companies.
